Huawei launches AI-backed database to target enterprise customers
China’s Huawei is making a serious foray into the enterprise business market after it unveiled a new database management product on Wednesday, putting it in direct competition with entrenched vendors like Ibm, Oracle and Microsoft. Called the GaussDB, the database works both locally as well as on public and private clouds. Driverless electric truck starts deliveries on Swedish public road
Resembling the helmet of a Star Wars stormtrooper, a driverless electric truck began daily freight deliveries on a public road in Sweden on Wednesday, in what developer Einride and logistics customer DB Schenker described as a world first. Robert Falck, the CEO of Swedish start-up Einride, said the company was in partnership talks with major suppliers to help scale production and deliver orders, and the firm did not rule out future tie-ups with large truckmakers. Nextdoor, il social network di quartiere, annuncia un finanziamento da 123 milioni di dollari che porta la valutazione a 2,1 miliardi di dollari. Il funding si accompagna, ed è legato, a un’accelerazione nella crescita in Europa. Il round di finanziamento è guidato da Riverwood Capital, con la partecipazione di investitori esistenti come Benchmark, Tiger Global Management e Kleiner Perkins, e la nuova partecipazione di un grande asset manager globale.
