UK mobile operator Three to launch 5G broadband in August
UK mobile operator Three on Monday said it would launch its first new-generation 5G broadband service in London in August and would roll out mobile and broadband across 25 towns and cities before the end of the year. Three, which is owned by Hutchison, said it would start its 5G network with a London home broadband service, joining BT’s EE and Vodafone in launching services in 2019. Three said its 2 billion pound ($2.55 billion) 5G infrastructure investment included network improvements in major British cities and a cloud core network provided by Nokia. (Fonte: Reuters)
Fiat Chrysler partners with Aurora to develop self-driving commercial vans
Aurora, the autonomous vehicle technology startup backed by Sequoia Capital and Amazon, has struck a deal with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to develop self-driving commercial vehicles. The partnership will focus on integrating Aurora’s technology into FCA’s line of Ram Truck commercial vehicles, a portfolio that includes cargo vans and trucks. The deal could extend to FCA’s Fiat Professional brand as well, TechCrunch has learned. Neither company disclosed financial terms of the deal. (Fonte: TechCrunch)
Insurtech, la startup Whoosnap raccoglie 1 milione di euro
Whoosnap, startup del portafoglio di LVenture Group e attiva nell’Insurtech grazie alla sua piattaforma Insoore, si prepara ad approdare in Europa grazie a un aumento di capitale da un milione di euro. L’operazione è stata guidata da Proximity Capital con la partecipazione di Luiss Alumni 4 Growth (LA4G). Insoore è una piattaforma tecnologica che permette alle compagnie assicurative e di fleet management di ottimizzare la gestione dei sinistri e di ottenere rilevazioni video-fotografiche in real time e on demand.
