Amazon touches $1 trillion, on pace to overtake Apple
Amazon.com Inc on Tuesday briefly joined Apple Inc to become the second $1 trillion publicly listed U.S. company after its stock price more than doubled in a year as it grew rapidly in retail and cloud computing. Its shares traded as high as $2,050.50 before easing a little to end the session at $2,039.51, up 1.3 percent and just short of the milestone level of $2,050.2677. (Fonte: Reuters)
Expanding its internet service to more countries in Africa, Tizeti raises $3 million
Tizeti, the Nigerian internet service provider behind the brand Wifi.com.ng, has raised $3 million in a new round of funding as it expands its unlimited internet service into Ghana. The new financing was led by 4DX Ventures, a new, Africa-focused fund that’s been deploying capital at an incredibly fast clip since its launch earlier this year. Its portfolio includes Sokowatch, a startup connecting local African retailers to international suppliers; the outsourced programmer placement and apprenticeship service, Andela; and the integrated pharmacy supplier and operator, mPharma. Startup oltre quota 14mila in Italia? Almeno a dare retta agli algoritmi
Le società innovative in Italia sono più di quante dicono i numeri ufficiali sulle startup. I dati ufficiali di Infocamere, aggiornati a fine giugno, contabilizzavano 9.328 startup innovative iscritte nella sezione speciale del Registro delle Imprese. In realtà vi sono altre 4.847 imprese che in Italia producono innovazione, portando il numero complessivo delle nuove aziende tecnologiche oltre quota 14.000, il 12% in più rispetto a quelle stimate due anni fa. A dirlo è Cerved, servendosi degli algoritmi di ricerca semantica sviluppati da SpazioDati, azienda trentina in cui la società ha operato un investimento di capitale di circa tre milioni di euro nel triennio 2014-2016, acquisendone la maggioranza.
